Photo: Church Member Steals And Sells Pastor’s Car In Ibadan

According to the Oyo state police command they have arrested and paraded a middle aged man named Wasiu Adetunji Lawal, who went to a church in search of a wife but ended up stealing and selling off  the church pastor's vehicle in Ibadan, Oyo state.

Paraded along with Wasiu Adetunji Lawal, Isiaka Babatunde, Jamiu Rahman, Wasiu Adelani and Abdulazeez Ahmed. While narrating what happened to Tribune, the victim, Pastor Akorede Aderounmu said:

"The suspect (Lawal) came to our church, looking for a lady to marry. After a while, he got close to me. One day, he said he wanted to help me repair something in my car. He had earlier said that he was an auto dealer. He disappeared with my vehicle for three months before it was recovered from the person he sold it to in Kaduna. Before his arrest, I called him severally but he always told me that he would soon bring the car, unknown to me that he had already sold it. I never instructed him to sell the car as he claimed.”.

The National President of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), Lawson Obasi, on Sunday in Port Harcourt, urged the Nigerian Government to decentralize loading of petroleum products to make for effective loading at depots across the country.

The IPMAN boss said that spreading of petroleum products to other coastal depots across the country would end the current scarcity, adding that a situation where government only distributed petroleum products to tank farms in Lagos was partly responsible for current scarcity and high cost of product.

The senior pastor of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), Pastor T.B. Joshua and other high ranking members of the church, be arraigned before a Lagos State High Court in Ikeja todayc over the collapse of a six-story building in the church on September 12, 2014, which led to the death of 116 persons.

Minister Of Transportation Orders Probe Of Maritime Academy Over N18bn Remittances

Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi has ordered a probe into the financial activities of the Maritime Academy of Nigeria (MAN), Oron, Akwa Ibom State with N18 billion remittances to the institution by the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) in the last five years.

Amaechi gave the order following allegations of financial recklessness and large scale fraud leveled against the academy’s rector, Joshua Okpo who recently approached him to accuse NIMASA of starving the institute of Funds. Amaechi immediately called for a meeting with the management of NIMASA and enquired from them why it was sitting on the subvention of MAN, Oron.

Kaduna state governor Nasir El-Rufai says the stress of seeking ways of creating jobs for the teeming unemployed youths in Kaduna state has left him tired after just 5 months of assuming office. “As a state governor the challenge for me is what to do to create jobs in Kaduna State. Eighty-two per cent of the eight million people in Kaduna State are below the age of 35.
My challenge is not whether population grows next year or the year after. It is to get jobs for this young people, otherwise no one will sleep in peace. Frankly speaking, five months as governor, I am already tired. I honestly do not think that anyone who wants to do this job seriously can do it for more than four years and not burn out. When I look at some of my colleagues, some are putting on weight, they are looking nice, I ask them, ‘how do you do it?” he said.

500 Nigerians Deported From UK Arrives Lagos Airport

According to reports, 500 Nigerians deported from the United Kingdom for illegal stay permits has arrived the Murtala Mohammed International Airport Lagos this morning.

When interviewed, one of them said he was arrested by British police and was not allowed to even take his belongings before being deported. The UK government plans to deport 29,000 Nigerians.

19 Month Old Baby Baked To Death In Oven By Her Siblings As Mom Went Out To Get Pizza

19-month-old J’zyra Thompson was baked to death in an oven by her toddler brother and sister after they were left alone at home.

The twin three-year-olds watched as J’zyra kicked the oven door after they made it “hot”, court documents claim. Mum Racquel Thompson and her boyfriend had gone out to fetch a takeaway pizza and a prescription, leaving four kids under the age of five in the flat without telling a gramdmother who lived in the same block.

They returned to find little J’zyra with severe burns and called paramedics to their home in Houston, Texas, but it was too late to save her. Detective Ronda Pemberton said:

Drunk Mom Shoots Son Dead While Celebrating Her Birthday Party

The woman identified as Dora Blake, 47, (pictured above) from Minden, Louisiana, reportedly shot her own son dead as he drove her from a casino where they had been celebrating her birthday

Authorities say the three were driving on I-20 on Saturday night after visiting a nearby casino while out celebrating Blake's birthday, which was on Sunday. Police said the woman was drunk, took out her gun and shot the other two from the back seat of the car for unknown reasons, KSLA reported.

Dora Blake, was arrested on a murder charge early on Sunday for killing her 22-year-old son, Patrick Hollingsworth, according to the Bossier Sheriff's Office. She was also charged with attempted murder for injuring another woman sitting in the front of the car.

Mali Authorities Releases Photos Of Suspected Mastermind Of Hotel Terror Attack

The Mali state Television on Monday, November 23, showed images of two dead men they said helped plan an attack on Radisson Blu hotel in the capital of Bamako that left 19 people dead. They are appealing for information to help identify them.

"They are suspects. People suspected of having links with the two terrorists (who attacked the hotel)," said a source close to the security ministry.

Chief prosecutor Boubacar Sidiki Samake, who is leading the investigation, said authorities had recovered items that will help them to learn more about how the attack was planned. "We recovered telephones on them (the two bodies) and machine pistols," he said on state radio.

French police on Sunday released the photo of the third suicide bombers who blew themselves up outside France's national stadium during the November 13 Paris attacks.

Investigators had said Friday that the assailant turned up among refugees on the Greek island of Leros on October 3, along with another attacker whose photo has been released but who remains unidentified. Only one of the three assailants at the Stade de France, north of Paris, has been identified so far -- French national Bilal Hadfi, 20, who lived in Belgium.

President Buhari Appoints Aliu Aziz As New NIMC DG

President Buhari yesterday approved the appointment of Engineer Aliyu Aziz Abubakar, as the new director general and Chief Executive Officer of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC).

Governor Okorocha Debunks Report Of Him Accusing Tinubu of Audu's Death

The Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha has denied allegation that he accused the national leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu of being responsible for the death of  Kogi state APC candidate, late Prince Abubakar Audu.

This was made in a statement issued by the special assistant to the Imo state governor on information and communications technology, Ik Ogbonna. The statement said such information being peddled by rumour mongers is nothing but a “tale full of thrash.”

Mali President Announces State Of Emergency After Deadly Attack

According to report, a 10-day state of emergency has been announced in the West African nation of Mali following the attack at Radisson Blu hotel by suspected Islamist militants in the capital Bamako, where gunmen reportedly killed 19 people.

A UN official earlier said the death toll had reached 27 people after preliminary count of the bodies.

Our Electoral Petition Tribunal is Faulty - President Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari, on Monday, in Abuja, said that election tribunals were not doing enough to curb impunity in the nation’s electoral system.
