The former governor and his sons pictured above arriving the court this morning, are being accused of collecting bribe totaling N1.35 billion from government contractors when he was governor.
At the hearing today, the presiding judge, Justice Evelyn Anyadike ruled that the former governor, his sons and one of his aides, Aminu Mustapha be kept in Kano prison despite a plea from their counsel that they should be transferred to the EFCC cell in Abuja or Kano. EFCC counsel had objected to this, claiming that the cells in both Kano and Abuja are full to capacity.
