The Forbes Five: Hip-Hop's Wealthiest Artists

Forbes has released their top five richest hip-hop stars and topping the list is P. Diddy who's worth $700 million with an increase of $120 million over his net worth last year. See the full list below...

1. Sean "Diddy" Combs: $700 Million

2. Andre "Dr. Dre" Young: $550 Million

3. Shawn “Jay Z” Carter: $ 520 Million

4. Bryan “Birdman" Williams: $160 million

5. Curtis "50 Cent"Jackson:$140 Million

Most of Diddy's money coming in from the highly successful Ciroc vodka. In addition to Ciroc, he gets cash from his Bad Boy record label, and his newly-launched Revolt TV network in which he has a majority stake that could one day turn him into hip-hop's first billionaire, according to Forbes. Dr. Dre's success is mainly credited to his Beats By Dre headphones line, co-founded with Jimmy Iovine.

Hov's new ventures from the past year are where the bulk of Jay Z's cash is coming from, ventures such as Roc Nation Sports. Cash Money co-founder Birdman's fortune, according to Forbes would have been over $300 million if he didn't share his fortune with brother Ronald “Slim”.They founded Cash Money Records two decades ago signing artists like Drake, Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne

50 Cent's fortune is in part due to the $100 million sale of VitaminWater in 2008, although he continues to pursue business ventures with SMS Audio and Street King energy drink.
