Weightlifter Maryam Usman yesterday at 3.30 pm, upped Nigeria’s gold medal haul to six, when she won the Women’s 75kg weightlifting with an overall score of 280kg beating reigning champion Ele Opeloge of Samoa into second place, with New Zealand’s Tracey Lambrechs, settling for bronze at the Clyde Auditorium, in Glasgow, making it a total of 4 Gold Medals from weightlifting at the Commonwealth Games for Team Nigeria!
Maryam Usman joins her teammates Odunayo Adekuoroye and Aminat Adeniyi, who also won gold medals in the women’s freestyle 53kg and 58kg wrestling respectively, yesterday. Also Oluwatoyin Adesanmi who won her Gold Medal two days ago. Congrats to Team Nigeria! See more pics below…
