FEMEN an exhibitionist feminist protest group founded in Ukraine in 2008 based in Paris that became internationally known for organizing controversial topless protests against sex tourism, religious institutions, sexism and other social, national and international topics has joined the #BringBackOurGirls campaign.
The organisation whose goal is "sextremism [sic] serving to protect women's rights", and describes itself as "fighting patriarchy in its three manifestations (sexual exploitation of women, dictatorship and religion) wrote on their official Facebook page concerning the missing Chibok girls:
"BringBackOurGirls! The terrorist group Boko Haram abducted 270 girls from a school in Nigeria about 3 weeks ago. 50 Girls were able to escape, but 200 are still in the hands of the Islamist organization.
The kidnapped girls are threatened with death, forced marriage or will live as slaves. That is terror,
death and absolute patriarchal oppression in the name of religion and power.
The Girls has been forced to veil themselves and to convert to Islam. In such a young age the girls are victims of violence that should not be the faith of any child in this world. The fanatical Islamist group killed 6,000 people in the name of religion. The connection of Boko Haram leads to the Nigerian government. Without Boko Haram there wouldn't be so many bribes paid in arms deals. Otherwise, how is it possible that despite the big public international and national attention and commitment they are not able to find the girls and set them free?
History shows that the struggle for power is fought on the backs of women till today. They are treated like goods. Women and Girls are systematically kept small so that there is no equality possible. This is just an example of what happens around the world every day, women are enslaved, sold, forced into marriage and exploited. But that 's over. You can't stop women worldwide, the revolution has already begun.Bring Back Our Girls!"
Earlier Women Arise organization declared nationwide rallies against terror and threatened to protest topless in Chibok, Borno State, if the kidnapped girls are not rescued.
