"I Prefer Sex With My Laptop" - Former Lawyer Files Application To Marry His Porn-Filled MacBook

A man named Chris Sevier, a former lawyer in the US state of Utah has filed a challenge linked to same-sex marriage action in the state, to be allowed to marry his “porn-filled” Apple laptop.

Chris Sevier launched his court challenge after he was denied the right to marry his MacBook by officials in Utah. Referring to the laptop as a “machine spouse”, he attempted to argue that he was in the same position as same-sex couples in the state who are also banned from marrying.

Chris Sevier piggybacked the lawsuit challenging the same-sex marriage ban. The 10th Circuit Appeals Court last month heard arguments from opponents of same-sex marriage, after Judge Robert Shelby struck down the state’s ban on same-sex marriage in December. In his 50-page motion, Sevier wrote:

“They discriminated against me when they rejected my request to marry my computer. I approached the Utah clerk to have a marriage licence issued for me and my machine-spouse. The clerk denied my request for a marriage licence … my object of affection was outside the scope of the narrow definition.”

Sevier previously blamed Apple for causing his addiction to porn, saying the tech giant was at fault for not putting a “safe mode” on his laptop.
