Military Beefs Up Security As Boko Haram Reportedly Infiltrates Lagos, Other Southern States


The Nigerian military in collaboration with other security agencies has beefed up surveillance around critical infrastructures in Lagos state following the reported infiltration of some Boko Haram commanders into the state and other states in southern Nigeria.

Security agencies revealed that following the attack launched by the Nigerian Army in the North-East zone, many of the fleeing terrorists, have infiltrated the southern parts of the country where they are said to be regrouping.

 The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai hinted on the infiltration at the weekend in Lagos, while addressing troops of the Nine Brigade.

He called on his personnel to collaborate with other security agencies, whom he disclosed have already arrested a handful of the terrorists.
