According to reports, the premises of Alawaye Hospital, in Iwo road Ibadan, where the mysterious inscription of the name of Allah on the bark of a tree was allegedly discovered, became a Mecca of sort yesterday, Friday as residents in the town trooped in to catch a glimpse of the discovery.
The inscription, which was noticed around 8am on Friday by one of the staffs of the hospital, drew the attention of many people from the community and beyond, such that many turned the tree to an object of worship with which they were supplicating, rubbing their palms on the part of the tree, cutting, eating the leaves and shouting the name of Allah with praise.
The Quranic lettering, which was interpreted to mean “Allahu” first appeared faintly on the tree before it got bolder few hours later on different parts of the tree to the surprise of the people in the community.
The news brought many more people to the hospital as they were seen with their mobile handsets taking the picture of the inscription. Both old and young were seen plucking the leaves of the tree, cutting its branches, rubbing their palms on it while some were seen eating the leaves.
